Mark: 8
|
11The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, to test him. 12And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, "Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation." 13And he left them, and getting into the boat again he departed to the other side. |

Matthew: 16
|
1And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. 2His answer was, ["In the evening you say, "It will be fair weather, for the sky is red;" 3And in the morning you say, "It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and lowering." You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times?'] 4An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah." So he left them and departed. |

54He also said to the multitudes, "When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, 'A shower is coming'; and so it happens. 55And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, 'There will be scorching heat'; and it happens. 56You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky; but why do you not know how to interpret the present time? |
