14 New English Bible (New Testament) Passage New Testament in Greek (UBS.Ed.26)

55The chief priests and the whole Council tried to find some evidence against Jesus to warrant a death-sentence, but failed to find any.
56Many gave false evidence against him, but their statements did not tally.
57Some stood up and gave this false evidence against him:  καί τινες ἀναστάντες ἐψευδομαρΤύρουν κατ' αὐτοῦ λέγοντες
58'We heard him say, "I will throw down this temple, made with human hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands."
59But even on this point their evidence did not agree.
60Then the High Priest stood up in his place and questioned Jesus: 'Have you no answer to the charges that these witnesses bring against you?'  καὶ ἀναστὰς ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἰς μέσον ἐπηρώτησεν τὸν Ἰησοῦν λέγων, Οὐκ ἀποκρίνῃ οὐδέν; τί οὗτοί σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν;
61But he kept silence; he made no reply.

Again the High Priest questioned him: 'Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?'

 ὁ δὲ ἐσιώπα καὶ οὐκ ἀπεκρίνατο οὐδέν. πάλιν ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς ἐπηρώτα αὐτὸν καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ, Σὺ εἶ ὁ Χριστὸς ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ εὐλογητοῦ;
62Jesus said, 'I am; and you will see the Son of Man seated on the right hand of God Literally: of the Power. and coming with the clouds of heaven.' - You will see the Son of man seated  Mk.14.62 | Ps.110.1 | Dn.7.13ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν, ἐγώ εἰμι,

63Then the High Priest tore his robes and said, 'Need we call further witnesses?  ὁ δὲ ἀρχιερεὺς διαρρήξας τοὺς χιτῶνας αὐτοῦ λέγει, Τί ἐτι χρείαν ἐχομεν μαρτύρων;
64You have heard the blasphemy. What is your opinion?' Their judgement was unanimous: that he was guilty and should be put to death.
