| 18 | Si genuerit homo filium contumacem et protervum, qui non audiat patris aut matris imperium, et coërcitus obedire contempserit: |
If a man gendrith a sone rebel, and ouerthewert, which herith not the comaundement of fadir and modir, and he is chastisid, |
If a man have a stubborn and unruly son, who will not hear the commandments of his father or mother, and being corrected, slighteth obedience: | The rebellious son. Dt.21.18-21 |
| 19 | apprehendent eum, et ducent ad seniores civitatis illius, et ad portam judicii, |
and dispisith to obei, thei schulen take hym, and schulen lede to the eldre men of that citee, and to the yate of doom; |
They shall take him and bring him to the ancients of his city, and to the gate of judgment, | |
| 20 | dicentque ad eos: Filius noster iste protervus et contumax est: monita nostra audire contemnit, comessationibus vacat, et luxuriæ atque conviviis: |
and thei schulen seie to hem, This oure sone is ouerthewert and rebel; he dispisith to here oure monestyngis, ethir heestis, he yyueth tent to glotonyes, and letcherie, and feestis. |
And shall say to them: This our son is rebellious and stubborn, he slighteth hearing our admonitions, he giveth himself to revelling, and to debauchery and banquetings: | |
| 21 | lapidibus eum obruet populus civitatis, et morietur, ut auferatis malum de medio vestri, et universus Israël audiens pertimescat. |
The puple of the citee schal oppresse hym with stoonus, and he schal die, that ye do awei yuel fro the myddis of you, and that al Israel here, and drede. |
The people of the city shall stone him: and he shall die, that you may take away the evil out of the midst of you, and all Israel hearing it may be afraid. | |
