23Nam cum obsiderent urbem, quæ prius Luza vocabatur, For whanne thei bisegiden the citee, that was clepid Lusa bifore, For when they were besieging the city, which before was called Luza,
24viderunt hominem egredientem de civitate, dixeruntque ad eum: Ostende nobis introitum civitatis, et faciemus tecum misericordiam. thei sien a man goynge out of the citee, and thei seiden to hym, Schewe thou to vs the entrynge of the cytee, and we schulen do mercy with thee. They saw a man coming out of the city, and they said to him: Shew us the entrance into the city, and we will shew thee mercy.
25Qui cum ostendisset eis, percusserunt urbem in ore gladii: hominem autem illum, et omnem cognationem ejus, dimiserunt. And whanne he hadde schewid to hem, thei smytiden the citee bi scharpnes of swerd; sotheli thei delyueriden that man and al his kynrede. And when he had shewn them, they smote the city with the edge of the sword: but that man and all his kindred they let go:
26Qui dimissus, abiit in terram Hetthim, et ædificavit ibi civitatem, vocavitque eam Luzam: quæ ita appellatur usque in præsentem diem. And he was delyuerede, and yede in to the lond of Sethym, and bildide there a citee, and clepid it Luzam; which is clepid so til in to present dai. Who being sent away, went into the land of Hethim, and built there a city, and called it Luza: which is so called until this day.
