The first printed edition of the Septuagint was made by the Spaniard Cardinal
Ximenes, who combined the Hebrew, Greek, and Latin versions of the Bible in
the four volumes known as the Complutensian Polyglot (dated
1514-17, but not actually issued until 1522). His Greek text was mainly based
on two late MSS. in the Vatican, now known as 108 and 248.
