| 1 | Ἀνέβη δὲ Αβραμ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου, αὐτὸς καὶ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτοῦ καὶ Λωτ μετ' αὐτοῦ, εἰς τὴν ἔρημον. |
And Abram went up out of Egypt, he and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the wilderness. | Abram and Lot separate. | 2 | Αβραμ δὲ ἦν πλούσιος σφόδρα κτήνεσιν καὶ ἀργυρίῳ καὶ χρυσίῳ. |
And Abram was very rich in cattle, and silver, and gold. | | Now Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. | וְאַבְרָם כָּבֵד מְאֹד בַּמִּקְנֶה בַּכֶּסֶף וּבַזָּהָב׃ |

| 3 | καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὅθεν ἦλθεν, εἰς τὴν ἔρημον ἕως Βαιθηλ, ἕως τοῦ τόπου, οὗ ἦν ἡ σκηνὴ αὐτοῦ τὸ πρότερον, ἀνὰ μέσον Βαιθηλ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Αγγαι, |
And he went [to the place] whence he came, into the wilderness as far as Baethel, as far as the place where his tent was before, between Baethel and Aggai, | | And he journeyed on from the Negeb as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, | וַיֵּלֶךְ לְמַסָּעָיו מִנֶּגֶב וְעַד־בֵּית־אֵל עַד־הַמָּקֹום אֲשֶׁר־הָיָה שָׁם [כ= אָהֳלֹה] [ק= אָהֳלֹו] בַּתְּחִלָּה בֵּין בֵּית־אֵל וּבֵין הָעָי׃ |

| 4 | εἰς τὸν τόπον τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου, οὗ ἐποίησεν ἐκεῖ τὴν ἀρχήν· καὶ ἐπεκαλέσατο ἐκεῖ Αβραμ τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου. |
to the place of the altar, which he built there at first, and Abram there called on the name of the Lord. | | to the place where he had made an altar at the first; and there Abram called on the name of the LORD. | אֶל־מְקֹום הַמִּזְבֵּחַ אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂה שָׁם בָּרִאשֹׁנָה וַיִּקְרָא שָׁם אַבְרָם בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה׃ |

| 5 | καὶ Λωτ τῷ συμπορευομένῳ μετὰ Αβραμ ἦν πρόβατα καὶ βόες καὶ σκηναί. |
And Lot who went out with Abram had sheep, and oxen, and tents. | | And Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents, | וְגַם־לְלֹוט הַהֹלֵךְ אֶת־אַבְרָם הָיָה צֹאן־וּבָקָר וְאֹהָלִים׃ |

| 6 | καὶ οὐκ ἐχώρει αὐτοὺς ἡ γῆ κατοικεῖν ἅμα, ὅτι ἦν τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτῶν πολλά, καὶ οὐκ ἐδύναντο κατοικεῖν ἅμα. |
And the land was not large enough for them to live together, because their possessions were great; and the land was not large enough for them to live together. | | so that the land could not support both of them dwelling together; for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together, | וְלֹא־נָשָׂא אֹתָם הָאָרֶץ לָשֶׁבֶת יַחְדָּו כִּי־הָיָה רְכוּשָׁם רָב וְלֹא יָכְלוּ לָשֶׁבֶת יַחְדָּו׃ |

| 7 | καὶ ἐγένετο μάχη ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων τῶν κτηνῶν τοῦ Αβραμ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων τῶν κτηνῶν τοῦ Λωτ· οἱ δὲ Χαναναῖοι καὶ οἱ Φερεζαῖοι τότε κατῴκουν τὴν γῆν. |
And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle, and the herdmen of Lot's cattle, and the Chananites and the Pherezites then inhabited the land. | | and there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle. At that time the Canaanites and the Per'izzites dwelt in the land. | וַיְהִי־רִיב בֵּין רֹעֵי מִקְנֵה־אַבְרָם וּבֵין רֹעֵי מִקְנֵה־לֹוט וְהַכְּנַעֲנִי וְהַפְּרִזִּי אָז יֹשֵׁב בָּאָרֶץ׃ |

| 8 | εἶπεν δὲ Αβραμ τῷ Λωτ Μὴ ἔστω μάχη ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ σοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων μου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων σου. ὅτι ἄνθρωποι ἀδελφοὶ ἡμεῖς ἐσμεν. |
And Abram said to Lot, Let there not be a strife between me and you, and between my herdmen and your herdmen, for we are brethren. | | Then Abram said to Lot, "Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen; for we are kinsmen. | וַיֹּאמֶר אַבְרָם אֶל־לֹוט אַל־נָא תְהִי מְרִיבָה בֵּינִי וּבֵינֶיךָ וּבֵין רֹעַי וּבֵין רֹעֶיךָ כִּי־אֲנָשִׁים אַחִים אֲנָחְנוּ׃ |

| 9 | οὐκ ἰδοὺ πᾶσα ἡ γῆ ἐναντίον σού ἐστιν; διαχωρίσθητι ἀπ' ἐμοῦ· εἰ σὺ εἰς ἀριστερά, ἐγὼ εἰς δεξιά· εἰ δὲ σὺ εἰς δεξιά, ἐγὼ εἰς ἀριστερά. |
Lo! is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me; if you [goest] to the left, I will go to the right, and if you go to the right, I will go to the left. | | Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left." | הֲלֹא כָל־הָאָרֶץ לְפָנֶיךָ הִפָּרֶד נָא מֵעָלָי אִם־הַשְּׂמֹאל וְאֵימִנָה וְאִם־הַיָּמִין וְאַשְׂמְאִילָה׃ |

| 10 | καὶ ἐπάρας Λωτ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ εἶδεν πᾶσαν τὴν περίχωρον τοῦ Ιορδάνου ὅτι πᾶσα ἦν ποτιζομένη - πρὸ τοῦ καταστρέψαι τὸν θεὸν Σοδομα καὶ Γομορρα - ὡς ὁ παράδεισος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ὡς ἡ γῆ Αἰγύπτου ἕως ἐλθεῖν εἰς Ζογορα. |
And Lot having lifted up his eyes, observed all the country round about Jordan, that it was all watered, before God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrha, as the garden of the Lord, and as the land of Egypt, until you come to Zogora. | | And Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw that the Jordan valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zo'ar; this was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomor'rah. | וַיִּשָּׂא־לֹוט אֶת־עֵינָיו וַיַּרְא אֶת־כָּל־כִּכַּר הַיַּרְדֵּן כִּי כֻלָּהּ מַשְׁקֶה לִפְנֵי שַׁחֵת יְהוָה אֶת־סְדֹם וְאֶת־עֲמֹרָה כְּגַן־יְהוָה כְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם בֹּאֲכָה צֹעַר׃ |

| 11 | καὶ ἐξελέξατο ἑαυτῷ Λωτ πᾶσαν τὴν περίχωρον τοῦ Ιορδάνου, καὶ ἀπῆρεν Λωτ ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν, καὶ διεχωρίσθησαν ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ. |
And Lot chose for himself all the country round Jordan, and Lot went from the east, and they were separated each from his brother. And Abram dwelt in the land of Chanaan. | | So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan valley, and Lot journeyed east; thus they separated from each other. | וַיִּבְחַר־לֹו לֹוט אֵת כָּל־כִּכַּר הַיַּרְדֵּן וַיִּסַּע לֹוט מִקֶּדֶם וַיִּפָּרְדוּ אִישׁ מֵעַל אָחִיו׃ |

| 12 | Αβραμ δὲ κατῴκησεν ἐν γῇ Χανααν, Λωτ δὲ κατῴκησεν ἐν πόλει τῶν περιχώρων καὶ ἐσκήνωσεν ἐν Σοδομοις· |
And Lot dwelt in a city of the neighbouring people, and pitched his tent in Sodom. | | Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, while Lot dwelt among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom. | אַבְרָם יָשַׁב בְּאֶרֶץ־כְּנָעַן וְלֹוט יָשַׁב בְּעָרֵי הַכִּכָּר וַיֶּאֱהַל עַד־סְדֹם׃ |

| 13 | οἱ δὲ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ἐν Σοδομοις πονηροὶ καὶ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐναντίον τοῦ θεοῦ σφόδρα. |
But the men of Sodom were evil, and exceedingly sinful before God. | | Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the LORD. | וְאַנְשֵׁי סְדֹם רָעִים וְחַטָּאִים לַיהוָה מְאֹד׃ |

| 14 | Ὁ δὲ θεὸς εἶπεν τῷ Αβραμ μετὰ τὸ διαχωρισθῆναι τὸν Λωτ ἀπ' αὐτοῦ Ἀναβλέψας τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου ἰδὲ ἀπὸ τοῦ τόπου, οὗ νῦν σὺ εἶ, πρὸς βορρᾶν καὶ λίβα καὶ ἀνατολὰς καὶ θάλασσαν· |
And God said to Abram after Lot was separated from him, Look up with your eyes, and behold from the place where you now are northward and southward, and eastward and seaward; | Hebron. Gn.13.14-18 | The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, "Lift up your eyes, and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; | וַיהוָה אָמַר אֶל־אַבְרָם אַחֲרֵי הִפָּרֶד־לֹוט מֵעִמֹּו שָׂא נָא עֵינֶיךָ וּרְאֵה מִן־הַמָּקֹום אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּה שָׁם צָפֹנָה וָנֶגְבָּה וָקֵדְמָה וָיָמָּה׃ |

| 15 | ὅτι πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν, ἣν σὺ ὁρᾷς, σοὶ δώσω αὐτὴν καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος. |
for all the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your seed for ever. | | for all the land which you see I will give to you and to your descendants for ever. | כִּי אֶת־כָּל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּה רֹאֶה לְךָ אֶתְּנֶנָּה וּלְזַרְעֲךָ עַד־עֹולָם׃ |

| 16 | καὶ ποιήσω τὸ σπέρμα σου ὡς τὴν ἄμμον τῆς γῆς· εἰ δύναταί τις ἐξαριθμῆσαι τὴν ἄμμον τῆς γῆς, καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου ἐξαριθμηθήσεται. |
And I will make your seed like the dust of the earth; if any one is able to number the dust of the earth, then shall your seed be numbered. | | I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your descendants also can be counted. | וְשַׂמְתִּי אֶת־זַרְעֲךָ כַּעֲפַר הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אִם־יוּכַל אִישׁ לִמְנֹות אֶת־עֲפַר הָאָרֶץ גַּם־זַרְעֲךָ יִמָּנֶה׃ |
16 |
| 17 | ἀναστὰς διόδευσον τὴν γῆν εἴς τε τὸ μῆκος αὐτῆς καὶ εἰς τὸ πλάτος, ὅτι σοὶ δώσω αὐτήν. |
Arise and traverse the land, both in the length of it and in the breadth; for to you will I give it, and to your seed for ever. | | Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you." | קוּם הִתְהַלֵּךְ בָּאָרֶץ לְאָרְכָּהּ וּלְרָחְבָּהּ כִּי לְךָ אֶתְּנֶנָּה׃ |
17 |
| 18 | καὶ ἀποσκηνώσας Αβραμ ἐλθὼν κατῴκησεν παρὰ τὴν δρῦν τὴν Μαμβρη, ἣ ἦν ἐν Χεβρων, καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐκεῖ θυσιαστήριον κυρίῳ. |
And Abram having removed his tent, came and dwelt by the oak of Mambre, which was in Chebrom, and he there built an altar to the Lord. | | So Abram moved his tent, and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are at Hebron; and there he built an altar to the LORD. | וַיֶּאֱהַל אַבְרָם וַיָּבֹא וַיֵּשֶׁב בְּאֵלֹנֵי מַמְרֵא אֲשֶׁר בְּחֶבְרֹון וַיִּבֶן־שָׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהוָה׃ ף |
